Milla Jovovich Talks Resident Evil: Afterlife.

Milla Jovovich starred in the first Resident Evil movie back in 2002, making Resident Evil: Afterlife's September 10 debut almost ten years of Jovovich playing the franchise's super-powered zombie slayer, Alice. With her husband Paul W.S. Anderson returning to direct — after only writing the previous two sequels — Jovovich admitted to ShockTillYouDrop that living with the writer and director of your movie can have its advantages.

With Resident Evil: Afterlife on the way later this year, many are wondering whether or not this fourth film will be the last in its series, not including any reboots. But it's her role as the confidant yet tortured Alice in the RESIDENT EVIL series that has catapulted her to worldwide notoriety - and transformed her from a waifish model to a butt-kicking geek goddess.

I had the pleasure of meeting Jovovich on the Toronto set of RESIDENT EVIL: AFTERLIFE, where she proved to be that most pleasant of surprises: a completely humble and friendly celebrity without a hint of ego or superiority. We talked about the challenges of making this new RESIDENT EVIL in 3D, as well as where the series is set to go from here:

Resident Evil: After Life Movie Shooting.

Shooting is currently underway in Toronto, Canada for the fourth instalment of the popular Resident Evil horror film series. The film is titled Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D and sees Milla Jovovich reclaiming her role as Alice while Wentworth Miller (of Prison Break fame) steps into the role of Chris Redfield.

Afterlife is being directed and produced by Paul Anderson, who just happens to be Jovovich’s husband, and who also wrote and directed the first Resident Evil film in 2002. It will hit the big screen on the 10th of September 2010 and will be the first film in the series to be released in 3D.

On the set of Resident Evil: Afterlife, Shock Till You Drop spoke with D. Eric Robertson, visual effects production manager from the company Mr. X. Below he talks about working in 3D and the sundry creatures you can expect to find in the fourth chapter of the cinematic series. Be warned, however, there are some spoilers in the final answer!

It’s the last day of shooting on Resident Evil: Afterlife, the fourth film in the popular franchise, and actress Ali Larter brought in cupcakes. There were none left for the journalists, but with a grueling shoot in late-fall Toronto and the added complication of still-new 3D technology, the crew deserved every last crumb. We managed to steal a few minutes with the actress to talk about working with the same 3D technology as Avatar and how close Resident Evil: Afterlife mirrors the Resident Evil games, before she dashed back to the warmth of Los Angeles, blonde hair, and her “day job.”

While it was up in the air for a short time whether it would get made, Resident Evil: Afterlife is now set for a September release date and looks to be coming to the screen in glorious 3D.
